Hi and welcome,

My name is Nicky and I am a product reviewer. Basically I buy products and review them so you can see if the product you’re looking for is the right one for you. I mainly concentrate on fitness products because that’s what I’m interested in. I also want to make sure my readers don’t fall into the trap of buying quick fixes which don’t really work and are dangerous.

Quite a  few years ago I prolapsed a disc, put weight on and was thoroughly fed up. I was told I would never run again, I put on 2.5 stone or 15 kgs for those of you in metric. I was depressed, fed up and to be honest quite angry. I had always been fit and now I felt useless. I lost my self confidence and got caught in the trap of comforting eating and confort smoking………….not a good combination!!

I looked at all the quick fixes like “How To Lose 3 Inches off Your Stomach” or “How To Get Great Abs In a Week”, but soon realised this was not the way forward.

So I reassessed my weight loss goals, looked at what I wanted to achieve and gave myself a realistic time frame to lose weight, tone up and get fitter.  I concentrated on a change of lifestyle and focused on changing my training routines to lose weight, achieve a flat stomach and the figure I wanted. So I began reading health and fitness magazines istead of gossip magazines for tips around healthy eating and weight loss.

I wanted to know how women could lose fat and gain muscle. I wanted to know the best ways of keeping the weight off and how I and other females could get a six pack.

I looked at the best stomach flattening exercises; the best foods to lose the excess fat; aerobic and anaerobic exercise and every free fitness program there was.

I realised different ways of exercising would change my body shape.

Slowly my lifestyle changed and I kept a log of my calorie intake and used exercise and food calendars to track my process. I set myself goals and am now living the lifestyle I want and maintaining my fitness, health and confidence.

Through fitness training, a change in my diet and stomach exercise I lost weight and toned up until I was a perfect UK size 10 and 9.5 stone.  I am much, much happier and my confidence was restored.

Now I don’t profess to be an athlete or a fitness guru but I do know what worked for me, a normal person with an every day life. It took time and effort on my part but I have now achieved goals I  never thought I would. My self confidence and belief has been restored. I know how it feels to get low and caught in a cycle where you want to change but can’t. I know how it feels to change not just your lifestyle but your mind set as well. For example I ran my first marathon this year and have now completed 3 Olympic distance triathlons. I didn’t come first or even near the podium but you know what, it doesn’t matter because I can do it!
